Oct 09, 2002 - CPAC on air with BroadView

BroadView Software, today announced a successful launch by the Canadian Public Affairs Channel, using the latest in broadcast management systems.

The BroadView product was selected by CPAC for its ability to manage all of their information needs, with the limited resources available at the station. Particularly important for CPAC is its ability to effectively manage scheduling, program inventory and CRTC analysis and reporting requirements.

"We're pleased that the launch has gone well and that staff are able to use the product so swiftly. It's testament to the ease of use that we've built into the product," said Michael Atkin, president of BroadView Software.

The Canadian Public Affairs Channel, started in 1992, is Canada's only national, bilingual network which specializes in long-form, public affairs programming, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The station uses Sundance automation software, Profile video servers and now has over 40 BroadView users managing their scheduling, traffic, inventory, library and website needs. A unique requirement of CPAC that was met by BroadView was the ability to manage bi-lingual language needs in the areas of website, TV Guide, interactive guides and on-screen CG information. BroadView's out-of-the-box dual language capability was used to meet this requirement.

BroadView Software Inc. has been providing back office broadcast management software to the Canadian and international broadcast and cable community since 1994. In use at over 65 stations across Canada, the United States and South America, it is now the largest Canadian supplier of broadcast management software to the Canadian television industry.
