Jun 19, 2007 - BlueHighways TV Goes 24/7 With BroadView
Integrated Traffic, Billing & Scheduling Package Enables Cable Rollout

HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee - June 19, 2007 - BlueHighways TV, a network that explores the people, stories traditions and music of America, is utilizing BroadView Software's fully integrated IT-based broadcast software for managing its new linear 24/7 cable channel. The BroadView system unifies programming, scheduling, traffic, ad management reporting, and automation management. The new software also serves as a foundation for future expansion including multiplatform delivery of BlueHighways TV's content.

"As we take our network to this new level, BroadView Software gives us the programming and traffic capabilities needed to make the transition to being a full-time network with 24/7 cable content," said Alan McLaughlin, Chief Operating Officer, BlueHighways TV. "A key part in our decision to go with BroadView is how it gives us what we need to meet our present needs for linear programming efficiently and effectively while opening the door to many new possibilities in the changing media environment for extending our brand through emerging outlets."

Adopting BroadView's package is a major milestone in the development of BlueHighways TV's technical infrastructure. Until now, content had only been available online and through Video on Demand (VOD). Bresnan Communications was the first operator to offer its content via VOD and now is the first cable affiliate. By adding BroadView's linear programming capabilities, the network is ready for national rollout.

"BlueHighways TV is a case study in how the mix of traditional broadcast, cable and other delivery platforms is now the standard," said Michael Atkin, BroadView Founding Partner and President. "With our IT-based solution, they enjoy enormous flexibility to build their network according to how they would like to proceed rather than by the dictates of the broadcast infrastructure."

Atkin noted that whatever the delivery platform, the ability to manage information about content as it is used in different functions within an operation is crucial to providing an efficient workflow. The traditional broadcast management solutions evolved independently as standalone functions. With BroadView, these are gathered together into a unified "suite" while the modular design allows for picking and choosing what's needed now and to add future capabilities as needed.
