Oct 22, 2009 - BroadView Software Certified on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 TORONTO, ON - October 22, 2009 - BroadView Software Inc. today announced that the current release of the BroadView server application is now approved for the Windows Server 2008 R2 platform, specifically for 64-bit operation. R2 is a "Release 2" or a refresh of the Windows 2008 server platform from Microsoft and builds incremental improvements on the current Windows Server 2008. The certification process engaged the entire suite of BroadView server-based applications in extensive tests using a combination of physical and virtual servers. During testing, the use of Windows Server 2008 R2 had no impact on client-side operations regardless of the client operating system or BroadView version used. "Given the ease with which Windows 2008 was approved, we expected no issues and had no issues with approving Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft's latest and technically most proficient server operating system" said Michael Atkin, President of BroadView Software. "Current sites already running Windows 2008 Server can migrate to Windows Server 2008 R2 with no difficulties. I'm happy that we can give our customers new options on how they deploy our products and extend their performance." Atkin noted stability and performance benefits from running on Microsoft's latest server operating system, specifically under 64-bit. All future installations of the BroadView server applications therefore will be on Windows Server 2008 R2, 64-bit. Additionally, BroadView plans to include migration to Windows Server 2008 as part of their regular review of client systems to ensure BroadView installations are providing users with the optimal experience. # # # About BroadView Software For media inquiries, please contact: For sales and product inquiries, please contact: |
