LAS VEGAS, Nevada - (NAB Booth N3130) April 5, 2014 - Discovery Communications, the world's #1 non-fiction media company, is now utilizing BroadView Software's Program Scheduling technology to optimize operations for all of its US broadcast networks including Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet and Investigation Discovery.
Upgrading Discovery's broadcast scheduling functionality with BroadView began in early 2012. Implementation to all of Discovery's 14 U.S. networks and joint ventures began in June, 2013 with completion in March, 2014.
A critical aspect of the project was the need for tight integration with Discovery's existing inventory management and traffic systems. The resulting streamlined workflow provides improved efficiency for the users and better accuracy and control of information.
"Discovery's implementation of BroadView's program scheduling demonstrates both the capabilities of our system for standalone scheduling on large networks as well as our capabilities as a technology partner," said Michael Atkin, BroadView Founding Partner and President. "Integration with existing Discovery systems was critical in order to get the most out of BroadView and plays directly to our strengths in true integration, not just light-weight interfacing."
